Amoments
Amoments is a hand-made book that tenderly explores themes of departure and death, carrying them into a narrative of healing and reflection. The work was created through Cheng’s interviews, in which fragments of lived experience were collected and then rewritten as poems and prose. These voices were gathered into pages where language holds the weight of memory while opening a path toward release.
The act of binding the book was conceived not only as a craft but as a metaphor. Each thread sewn into the spine resembled the stitching of a wound: a slow, meditative gesture that acknowledged pain while transforming it into wholeness. To turn the pages is to feel that rhythm of repair, where fragility and resilience are bound together by hand.
The book is also presented through an act of reciprocity: for every copy purchased, another is gifted forward. In this way, Amoments extends beyond the act of reading to become an offering of care. The stories carried within it continue their journey, passed from hand to hand, opening spaces of healing and connection within the wider community.
