From Book to Stage
Two Nests: Love From Both
HKSC Arts & Culture Centre | 2020.1.19
The stories of divorced families from Two Nests were first adapted into a script, which was then transformed into a stage production. The process itself became an act of rethinking: how stories could be embodied, shared, and collectively reinterpreted.
In this project, members of divorced families were invited to join professional actors on stage. Through rehearsals, the written text was analysed, but new layers of reflection were also generated as participants shared their own experiences of family life. The moment of performance allowed these voices to be spoken in the first person, directly to an audience, transforming private histories into shared encounters.
A special charity performance was also organised in collaboration with Non-profit organisations. Complimentary tickets were provided to divorced families, ensuring accessibility and inclusion. In this way, the stage was not only a site of performance but also a gathering space, where art, community, and social engagement intersected.
